Instructors

 

The CHOICE CTI instructors have "real life" construction industry experience. Some of them have even owned their own businesses. They know the "ins and outs" of construction, including exactly what it takes to succeed in this exciting industry.

The CTI Institutes also offers plenty of internship opportunities, so you'll have a chance to apply what you've learned in class to real life situations and have the chance to work with construction managers from all sides of the industry.

Matt Clark, Dean
Matt Clark has been certified by the NCCER as a Master Instructor Trainer, a Project Management Instructor and a Construction Site Safe Supervisor Instructor. He is also a certified OSHA Instructor trainer. Clark has received numerous awards throughout his 32 years in the construction and vocational education fields, including the Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce's Partnership Pro Award for Excellence in Education. He was honored as Teacher of the Year for the entire Okaloosa County School District in 2003.

Ron Cawthon - Crestview, Electrical
Ron Cawthon is a certified OSHA 500 Safety Instructor and certified NCCER Instructor. In addition, he is NCCER certified in Electrical and Field Safety.

Bill Cook, Ph. D. - Crestview, Engineering, Architecture
Dr. Bill Cook is certified in AutoCAD and NCCER Field Safety. He is also a certified OSHA 500 Safety Instructor.

Mike Eglin - Crestview, Welding
Mike is a certified OSHA 500 Safety Instructor and holds NCCER certificaion in Welding and Field Safety.

Don Fleming - Crestview, Carpentry, Project Management
Don Fleming holds NCCER certification in Carpentry, Construction Technology and Field Safety, in addition to being a certified OSHA 500 Safety Instructor.

Bill Campbell, Ph. D. - Fort Walton Beach, Electronic Systems Technology
Dr. Bill Campbell holds a BS degree in Industrial Arts, a Master of Education in Vocational Technical Education and Doctorate of Education in Educational Management. He is a certified OSHA 500 Safety  Instructor and holds NCCER certification ins in Electronic Systems Technology and Field Safety. Dr. Campbell worked many years in industry, with experience as a Production Supervisor and Field Engineer.

Dale Chavers - Fort Walton Beach, Construction Management
Dale Chavers holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Education. He retired from the US Air Force after 20 years and has owned his own business since 1995. He has experience in personnel management, marketing and sales, construction management and logistics operations. Chavers is an NCCER-certified Instructor in Construction Technology, Project Management and Field Safety. He is also an OSHA 500 Safety Instructor.

Royal Preston - Fort Walton Beach, Carpentry
Royal Preston was honored as the Top Vocational Student for Okaloosa County during his high school years. He worked for many years in the construction industry, as lead carpenter, foreman, superintendent, construction manager and building contractor. He is a certified NCCER Instructor in Carpentry and Field Safety and an OSHA 500 Safety Instructor.

Sharon Thetford - Fort Walton Beach, Technical English
Sharon Thetford holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism, a Master of Education degree in Secondary English and is a state-certified Intensive Reading Instructor. Before entering into education, she worked in the broadcasting industry as an announcer, writer, advertising executive and community relations director.

Terry "Chip" Williams - Fort Walton Beach, AutoCAD
Chip Williams holds an Associate of Science degree in Drafting and Design Technology, a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts adn Technology Education and a Master of Science degree in Vocational Administration and Supervision. He is certified in CAD/CAM (Computer Assisted Drafting and Machining), CNC (Computer Numeric Controlled Machining), Robotics, Metal Fabrication, Machining, Computer Repair, Technology Lab Instruction. He is also a certified OSHA 500 Instructor.
