Salon and Spa Academy, Cosmetology:
You will explore and experience first hand the lucrative world of cosmetology. Working toward state licensure, you will learn the skills necessary to properly care for the hair, scalp, skin, and nails of both male and female clients.
You will train using the internationally recognized Pivot Point curriculum, which adopts the scientific approach to salon services, including styling, sculpting, coloring, bleaching, permanently waving/chemically relaxing waves or curl in the hair, care of the nails of the hands and feet, skin care, analysis of the hair and skin, hair removal and make-up application techniques.
Over the past 45 years, Pivot Point has provided educational solutions to some of the industry's top salons and manufacturers. Each year, its award-winning educational programs graduate 50,000 cosmetologists in 73 countries around the world.
Nail Specialty Program Description: (Enrollment by special arrangements only)
In this program, you will explore and experience all facets of the nail service industry. Working toward state licensure, you will learn the skills necessary to care for the nails of the hands and feet, including manicuring and pedicuring, the application of artificial nail tips and overlay products, nail wraps, and nail art.
Instruction will also cover the recognition and treatment of nail diseases and disorders, as well as massage techniques for the hands, arms, lower legs and feet.
Academy of Culinary Arts
The Academy of Culinary Arts allows you to investigate the many exciting career options within the food service industry. You will learn and practice the fundamental skills involved in the selection, preparation, and service of meats, poultry, seafood, fruits, vegetables, soups, sauces, desserts, and bakery items.
Your preparation skills will be honed daily as you practice in a fully-equipped commercial kitchen. Students successfully completing the program will earn college credit and a nationally-recognized industry certificate issued by the National Restaurant Association.
