Beloved CHOICE IT Teacher Passes Away Unexpectedly
February 5, 2008

Carmen Wiggins, the fun-loving Digital Design teacher for Niceville High School's CHOICE IT program, passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon.

Students and colleagues are mourning the unexpected passing of Carmen Wiggins last Saturday. Wiggins taught Digital Design for Niceville High School's CHOICE IT program.

CHOICE IT Dean Patti Bonezzi suggested that the students create digital memorials to their teacher during Monday's classes. The work will be compiled into a scrapbook for her family.

The students created beautiful and thought-provoking tributes to a teacher who was known for her total dedication to her students. They produced everything from heartfelt poetry with graceful images to witty messages that reflected Wiggins' zany sense of humor. A memorial table was set up in her classroom, filled with memories and a book for the students to sign.

A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, February 6th, at 6 pm at the McLaughlin Mortuary, 17 Chestnut Avenue, Fort Walton Beach.
